Pushpakumara records easy win

The All Island Lanka Plate snooker tournament which got underway at the Moors Sports Club billiards saw W. M. P. Pushpakumara of ICSC chalking up an easy 3-0 win over D. John of Kandy in the five frame encounter played in the morning session.

The other matches played in the morning session ended in tight finishes with four games going to the wire which saw M. R. T. Chandana ( BRC), E. T. N. Soyza (Army), M. Farhan and P. Guruge both of Galle coming out victorious.

The All Island Lanka Plate snooker conducted by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka and sponsored by U.W. Sumapthipala Group of Companies by 40 cueists around the island is the final tournament to select the cueists who will qualify to play in the forthcoming 66th National Snooker Championship due to be played in late October.
