-

In just one month of operations, Colombo City Centre has established itself as the Sri Lankan capital’s must- visit destination, with the footfall reaching over 250,000 people from the day of the opening till present. The combination of globally- reputed dining, retail and entertainment experiences has been a major attraction for visitors, and a welcome addition to Colombo’s progress as an international metropolis.

“It has been an absolutely phenomenal first month of operations,” said Anand Sundaram, CEO of Colombo City Centre. “This has been a long deserved world-class experience for the hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankans who have come from far and wide to visit the country’s first international mall.”

Opened under the patronage of the Honourable Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wi c k r e m e s i n g h e on September 19, the Mall at Colombo City Centre has since treated crowds to 200,000 square feet of dining, retail and entertainment experiences on par with the greatest cities in the world. Billed as the largest shopping destination and the only integrated lifestyle complex of its kind in Sri Lanka, the Mall represents Colombo City Centre’s first step in transforming the urban fabric of the capital. From hosting original world-famous brands such as Apple, Body Shop, Swarovski and more, to enticing diners with Sri Lanka’s first food atrium filled with global cuisines, and redefining the movie going experience with Sri Lanka’s first cineplex to use Dolby Atmos and 4K technology, the Mall at Colombo City Centre has already made a revolutionary first impression on the general public of Sri Lanka.

A highly anticipated addition to the capital’s fast-developing skyline, Colombo City Centre is Sri Lanka’s first BOI-approved mixed development project, slated for completion in early 2019. The USD 180million joint venture between local retail giant, Abans, and Singaporebased Next Story Group is one of Sri Lanka’s largest foreign direct investments in recent times, and rises 47- storeys above the heart of the city. Honored as the ‘Best Mixed Use Development’ by PropertyGuru Asia, ‘Most Promising Mixed Use Development’ by CMO Asia, ‘Asia’s Greatest Brand’ by AsiaOne Magazine and ‘Upcoming Mall of the Year’ among several other accolades by the Golden Globe Tigers, Colombo City Centre is a multi award-winning skyscraper dedicated towards transforming Sri Lanka’s capital into a global metropolis with the first integrated lifestyle complex of its kind. This includes Sri Lanka’s first international mall, the upscale NEXT Hotel®, and 192 luxurious residential units. Plus, the upcoming inclusion of more premium brands, upmarket restaurants, children’s entertainment, lounge bars and parking floors will further enhance the world-class experiences at the Mall, providing Colombo citizens with greater excitement to come.
