Enoka Rathnayake brings Sri Lanka pride as the owner of a day care centre in USA

The Day care Centre with the backing of education for the kids in Washington USA owned by a Sri Lankan celebrated 7 years of quality business recently. At a time most of the migrant women work for other day care centers this would be unique according to Sri Lankans living there. Enoka Rathnayake migrated to the USA on a Green Card Lottery 20 years back hails from Kandy and a product of Museaus College Colombo.

She says getting a license to start a Day care is not simple as in Sri Lanka.

They have to undergo examinatio­ns and interviews before the license is given to any one in the USA. The government decides the number of kids according to the space of the relevant place and should be strictly managed as an early education centre where the kids are given a chance for their early education as well.

Happily married with two children she together with her husband tries to maintain the values of our culture by becoming Ranga Kala Kawaya a cultural organizati­on based in Washington.

They conduct several charity for the needy Sri Lankans and insists she prefers a retirement in Sri Lanka some day which most of migrants never think of.
