Annual Nalanda Ellawela Memorial Table Tennis

Trinity College, Kandy scored their third consecutive win over S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia in the Annual Nalanda Ellawela Memorial Table Tennis championship held last weekend at the S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium tables.

Architect of the hill capital boys’ victory was Abdullah Manzil who dethroned the opponents by winning both his matches. Manzil outclassed Asela Wickremarathne and Savindu Wickrematilleke and made the way for Trinity to clinch the championship for 2018.

Chamindu Bandara (Trinity College) beat Savindu De Silva (STC) 2-0 (11-8, 11-7)

Rohan Gomas (STC) beat Pasindu Karunananda (Trinity College) 2-1 (7-11, 11-5, 11-6)

Asela Wickrematilleke (STC) beat Chamindu Bandara (Trinity College) 2-1 (11-9, 9-11, 11-6)

Finals: Abdullah Manzil (Trinity College) beat Savindu De Silva (STC) 2-1 (11-9, 9-11, 11-6)

Trinity College won 3-2.
