- By Joshua Surendraraj

Fouzul Hameed’s 2019 collection, displayed yet again the designer’s keen eye for the latest trends in the fashion industry. On Saturday (November 24) Colombo’s fashion elite and other prominent personalities from the business scene were the first to witness the anticipated ‘Concept 2019’ fashion show at the Envoy Mansion, Colombo 3.

Despite the showers in Colombo that evening all of the invitees grabbed an umbrella and found their seats for this outdoor event in time for the show.

Presented under the theme ‘Black’, the show itself was a showcase of Fouzul’s finesse and perfectly crafted designs. Carefully orchestrated, it featured some of Sri Lanka’s top male models who lit up the ramp in this eye-catching menswear collection.

The collection was divided into Statement in Black, South Asian Elegance, Ceylon Pride and Ceremonial Luxe. It featured a range of formal menswear that would adapt to any environment.

The models showed off silhouettes in black and bold colours and through the collection it was evi- dent that Fouzul wanted to diversify and innovate looks for men.

“I find inspiration in the natural, whether I’m walking along a cobbled street or sipping a cup of coffee in a café,”Fouzul shares. To him, colours are important and the right combi- nation matters. But Fouzul is not limited to colours alone. The whole outfit is thought of, from the cut to the pattern and the button. He believes that this combination is unique to every man and finding it is his passion.
