7 ways teenagers can start preparing for life after school

-

As Howard Huff bluntly put it “… it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark”

You don’t wait for the opportunity to present itself, you always prepare in advance. Life after school can be a shocking change from the sheltered world of the classroom. To help students navigate smoothly into the world of adult-hood Modern Learning Studio is conducting its feature workshop SPARK on the 19th& 20th of December 2018.This article highlights 7 valuable points that will be discussed during the program to help kids succeed.

MAKING DECISIONS:Everything is impacted by the decisions you make.Decision making is aboutbeing logical and illogical at the same time. You have toweigh the pros and cons… but also listen to your gut.Information overload can be just as misleading as a hunch in some cases.Instead try narrowingyour options logically and decidebased on your inner voice.

STAND UP TO BULLIES:In the professional life there will be people who mistreat and harass you or those you associate with. This is not to be tolerated or even promoted.Understand thata bully will only challenge you if you show weakness, neverleave room for such behavior to affect your self –esteem.

CONFIDENTLY COMMUNICATE: Communication is not just about what you say, but how you say it. All effective leaders are able to speak in a manner that connects with their audience. A loud voice and high flung words does not make you a good communicator. KNOW YOUR WEAKNESSES:Having a growth mindset means you understand your weaknesses. No one is per- fect, even a CEO has aspects he/ she must improve in. Having a reality check about what you can and cannot do is healthy and it pays to get peoples honest constructive feedback from time to time.

EXPERINECE FIRST:Having only a good education or background does not automatically permit youto gain a high salary unless it is backed by experience. As a fresher, understand that no task is ever beneath you. Learn to firstbuild your capabilities before your bank balance; otherwise you will peak tofast too soon.

BEING DISCIPLINED: Discipline starts with the mind. It is about being organized with your time, resources and conduct. Being mentallyand physically disciplined is a vital life skill that will see youthrough stressful times. THINK SOLUTIONS NOT PROBLEMS:Talking about problems is a waste of time and helps no one to move forward.Even when a challenge comes up – think positive. No one likes to hear about issues, instead identify & discuss possible solutions. To learn and get trained on above enroll for SPARKa Leadership and Empowerment Boot Camp that will inspire you to conquer your future.
