Dushan Vimukthi made a career best 178 to help Army SC end with a massive score of 462 for 9 declared on day two against SLPA CC in the Premier League Tier ‘A’ cricket encounter played at Panagoda.

Dushan whose marathon knock came in 339 balls comprised 11 boundaries and half a dozen sixes. He was involved in two valuable partnershi­ps-- first of 135 runs for the second wicket with Lakshan Edirisingh­e and the other of 128 runs for the fourth wicket with Dilshan de Soysa.

Later Army SC’s bowling trio Dushan Vimukthi, Janith Silva and Seekkuge Prasanna shared eight wickets to leave SLPA CC end day two struggling on 120 for 8.

NCC skipper Angelo Perera cracked his second successive ton which laid his side to take a first innings lead over Tamil Union when play ended on day two at P. Sara Stadium.

Ashan Priyanjan slammed an unbeaten 161 in 212 balls inclusive of six boundaries and seven sixes helping CCC secure a first innings lead over Colts CC at the Colts ground.

Sri Lanka Test discard Kaushal Silva made a 127 with 13 boundaries for SSC to take a first innings lead against Saracens SC in the match played at SSC grounds. The matches will be continued today.
