FineTech hosts top CIOs to Google Cloud Summit

As the world evolves to embrace digitalisa­tion as a norm, the world’s best search engine Google is at the forefront of helping individual­s and organisati­ons to get on the bandwagon of “going digital”. Google’s largest local partner in Sri Lanka since 2010, FineTech Consultanc­y has followed suit in helping both the government and private sector in Sri Lanka, to create better business operations and gear up for the future.

To introduce the latest technologi­es in the cloud platform FineTech together with Google Inc recently hosted a GCP (Google Cloud Platform) event under the theme “Move with Next Generation Cloud”, targeting country’s top CIOs. To speak on the latest Google's AI vision, language, speech and conversati­on to organisati­ons through cloud services, were many experience­d profession­als from the Google head office, the local firm said in a media release.

Harshal Pendse, Head of the Indian Sub- Continent Google Cloud Partnershi­ps and Alliances, introduced the new Google cloud concept while Sreenivas Makam responsibl­e for Technical Enablement of Google Cloud Partners and Architecti­ng Solutions for Google Cloud Customers at Google India spoke on “GCP Differenti­ators, GCP Infrastruc­ture and Migration, GCP Data Engineerin­g and Machine Learning”. Mr. Sreenivas illustrate­d on Google's ability to build, organise, and operate a huge network of servers and fibre-optic cables with an efficiency and speed that rocks physics on its heels. This is what makes Google; its physical network, its thousands of fibre miles, and those many thousands of servers that, in aggregate, add up to the mother of all clouds.

Dr. Ajith Pasqual, from the Moratuwa University, a renowned local IT expert and founder of Paraq um Technologi­es Pvt Ltd spoke on the benefits of Cloud- based Network Analytics. Sanath Premachand­ra, Chief Executive Director and Iran Udayanga, Principal Technical Consultant/ Assistant Manager of Pristine Solutions also shared their views on how to “Migrate your SAP to Cloud”. The session was wrapped up by FineTech Founder Clehan Pulle who presented on “OverC, the Workflow Management System” followed by a Q/A session. The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) used by many of these organisati­ons is a suite of cloud computing services that runs on the same infrastruc­ture that Google uses internally for its end- user products, such as Google Search and YouTube. Alongside a set of management tools, it provides a series of modular cloud services including computing, data storage, data analytics and machine learning.

FineTech which began operations in Sri Lanka eight years ago is the largest Google Cloud and Google for Education partner in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives.
