ESOFT sponsors Maliyadeva College’s outstanding rugby team

As a gesture in appreciation and recognition of the splendid performance of Maliyadeva College, one of the oldest rugby playing schools in Sri Lanka, ESOFT Metro Campus (PVT) Ltd., has come forward to sponsor the school team for the next season in 2019.

Maliyadeva College has been playing rugby since 1974, and has produced many outstanding players like Nishanth Dias, Saranga Jayakody, Nilantha Dias, Rohitha Robots, Shenal Dias and Sandun Herath. The team played in the ‘B’ division in the past, and was promoted to the elite division in the schools’ rugby tournament based on its impressive performance during the last season. This breakthrough, achieved after a spell of 16 years, was possible due to the continuous support of Old Devan’s Rugby Union.

The sponsorship to the school was formally presented by Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, Group Managing Director of ESOFT Group of Companies, at a special ceremony organised by Old Devan’s Rugby Union to mark the achievements of the rugby team.
