With today's modern technology, we are often spoiled for choice not only with streaming subscriptions but also movies to watch.

But having too much choice can leave us feeling frustrated, struggling to find films and TV shows with hundreds of options available time-consuming.

Now a new app, called Flickmetrix, combines movie ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, Metacritic and Letterbox to help you decide what to watch.

An essential for all movie lovers, users can filter their list based on which streaming service they want to watch a film on - including Amazon Prime, Netflix.

The site, which is also free, gives you combined reviews on DVDs or in the films released in cinemas.

You can narrow your choices down to a specific genre, range of critic review numbers. There is also a year option and average rating scale and includes a your own personalised watchlist, seen section and favourites section.

When searching for films, you have the ability to sort your search in various ways, including by average rating or by a site’s individual rating, for example, IMDB's or Rotten Tomatoes.

The website, which was made by British software developer Mike Fox, was originally called Cinesift and began as a Rotten Tomatoes competitor.

Mr Fox said: I want this site to help others find new films, and find out where they can watch those films.'
