Priya­mal slams sec­ond un­beaten dou­ble ton

Colts CC skip­per and mid­dle or­der bats­man Priya­mal Per­era slammed his sec­ond un­beaten dou­ble ton of the on­go­ing Pre­mier League cricket tour­na­ment against BRC at the BRC grounds yes­ter­day.

Priya­mal who made an un­beaten 206 against Badure­liya CC two weeks ago hit 200 n.o. as Colts CC made a huge score of 391 for their first in­nings af­ter re­sum­ing from their overnight score of 272 for 9.

The right handed Priya­mal’s marathon knock came off 386 balls which com­prised 22 bound­aries and a six. He was in­volved in a valu­able 132-run stand for the last wicket with Praveen Jayaw­ick­rama which bol­stered the Colts CC’s score.

BRC in their turn fell into deep trou- ble as they lost their first four wick­ets with the score was on 48 as spin­ner Ak­ila Dhanan­jaya do­ing the early dam­age be­fore use­ful knocks by Rumesh Bud­dika, Hashen Ra­manayake and Ra­minda Wi­je­sooriya helped them end day two on 208 for 7.

A knock of 160 in 191 balls in­clu­sive of 18 bound­aries and three sixes by Sa­chithra Seras­inghe helped Tamil Union make a bold re­ply of 336 for 6 in re­ply to Moors SC who made 326 runs hav­ing re­sumed from their overnight score of 324 for 9.

Sa­chithra was in­volved in two fruit­ful part­ner­ships --first of 98 runs for the third wicket with skip­per Tha­ranga Paran­vithana and the other of 94 runs for the sixth wicket with Damith Silva.

CCC have al­ready taken a first in­nings lead over Badure­liya CC while SLPA CC sur­prised fan­cied NCC by tak­ing a slen­der first in­nings lead. Sara­cens SC was in com­mand against Ne­gombo CC and ex­changes were even in the match be­tween Army SC and Ragama CC. The matches will be con­tin­ued to­day.
