- By M. Shamil Amit

Colts CC skipper and middle order batsman Priyamal Perera slammed his second unbeaten double ton of the ongoing Premier League cricket tournament against BRC at the BRC grounds yesterday.

Priyamal who made an unbeaten 206 against Badureliya CC two weeks ago hit 200 n.o. as Colts CC made a huge score of 391 for their first innings after resuming from their overnight score of 272 for 9.

The right handed Priyamal’s marathon knock came off 386 balls which comprised 22 boundaries and a six. He was involved in a valuable 132-run stand for the last wicket with Praveen Jayawickrama which bolstered the Colts CC’s score.

BRC in their turn fell into deep trou- ble as they lost their first four wickets with the score was on 48 as spinner Akila Dhananjaya doing the early damage before useful knocks by Rumesh Buddika, Hashen Ramanayake and Raminda Wijesooriya helped them end day two on 208 for 7.

A knock of 160 in 191 balls inclusive of 18 boundaries and three sixes by Sachithra Serasinghe helped Tamil Union make a bold reply of 336 for 6 in reply to Moors SC who made 326 runs having resumed from their overnight score of 324 for 9.

Sachithra was involved in two fruitful partnerships --first of 98 runs for the third wicket with skipper Tharanga Paranvithana and the other of 94 runs for the sixth wicket with Damith Silva.

CCC have already taken a first innings lead over Badureliya CC while SLPA CC surprised fancied NCC by taking a slender first innings lead. Saracens SC was in command against Negombo CC and exchanges were even in the match between Army SC and Ragama CC. The matches will be continued today.
