Storm Heaven
Storm Heaven! And with rage ask why Its blessed mercy to thou deny;
For what sin done on earth this birth Must thou endure infernal hurt
Taunt Heaven! For the hopes it rest Upon thy puny human breast, That makes thou believe thou art blest When on thy knees thou gods attest
Scorn Heaven! And with wrath reveal The sham that fosters devout zeal To bear with calm life’s myriad ills For promised bliss beyond the hills
Search Heaven! If answer there be To free thou from thy misery: The enigma’s wrapped in mystery, And thou, not heaven, hold its key
