Waves

-

A sailor and his men were coming home from sea,

Carrying various treasures from various lands and singing merrily,

A sailor and his men were coming home from sea,

Thinking happily of their treasures, and building futures to be, Oh! Building futures to be, Then, one night a heavy wind, rocked the ship to and fro,

In vain the sailor tried, to steer her safely to shore,

The wind carried her fast and hard, to the rocks that lay in wait,

‘Abandon ship!’ ‘Abandon ship!’ there came the cry, even as the rain poured down in sheets,

So the sailor, he, with no choice left, abandoned his precious ship,

And watched his dreams, his hopes, and all his happiness, get licked by the waves.
