Meghan won't hire a nanny for new arrival - but will rely on granny Doria for childcare instead

- By Stephanie Linning

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not planning to hire a nanny, it is reported. The couple, who are expecting their first baby together, will instead rely on Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, for childcare, according to Vanity Fair.

The majority of royal couples, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, choose to hire a professional nanny to look after their children. It was previously reported that Harry and Meghan, 37, would employ 'Hollywood super-nanny'

Connie Simpson, who helped raise George and Amal Clooney's twins.

She has worked with A-listers and helped raise more than 250 babies over a 30 year career.

There has been speculation over whether Doria will relocate to the UK from Los Angeles full-time, or will split her time between the two to help raise her grandchild.

Carole Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge's mother, plays a hands-on role in the lives of her grandchildren, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 9 months.

William, 36, and Kate, 37, also employ full-time nanny Maria Borrallo. Ms Borrallo trained at the prestigious Norland College which has been producing childminders for the rich and famous since 1892. The institution's students are schooled in all aspects of looking after youngsters during their 3-year degree course.
