Talented Young Scientist Programme 2019-2020 Applications now open
The Talented Young Scientist Programme (TYSP) 2019-2020 held in China, will accept applications until February 15.
Applications can be obtained on the Ministry of Science Technology & Research website (www.mostr.gov.lk). From the Applicants, the Ministry will nominate one young Scientist or Researcher who will then have to submit a scanned copy of the nomination form, along with the application form and a short CV with a photograph.
To be eligible, one should be a Scientist and/or Researcher with a minimum of 5 years of Scientific Research experiments. Be below 45 years of age and a citizen of Sri Lanka who works here. Fluency in English or Mandarin Chinese is a must, as is a PhD.
The programme which is organised by the United Nations Commission on Science, Technology for Development (CSTD) together with the Government of China, seeks to promote scientific communication, nurture top researchers and foster a long-term cooperation among research institutes, universities and enterprises in Asia and Africa. It also seeks to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote cooperation among developing countries who are members of the CSTD.
Opportunities will be given for 20 eligible young scientists to work together with high level research teams on a full-time basis in China. The Chinese Government will provide a monthly allowance of RMB 12,500 to each scientist to cover their living expenses.
To be eligible, one should be a Scientist and/ or Researcher with a minimum of 5 years of Scientific Research experiments.
