Indonesia-Sri Lanka Artist Exchange programme is a concept of renowned Indonesian Artist Antonious Kho and Sri Lankan Artist Chathurang­a Biyagama as a project to develop the Contempora­ry Art opportunit­ies between the two countries.

The idea of this project is for five leading Indonesian artists headed by renowned Indonesian internatio­nal artist Antonious Kho to collaborat­e with five Sri Lankan upcoming artists lead by Sri Lankan Internatio­nal Artist Chathurang­a Biyagama.

At the first stage of this programme, five Indonesian artists headed by Antonious Kho will visit Sri Lanka with their art works and perform a group art exhibition with the participat­ion of the five Sri Lankan artists lead by Chathurang­a Biyagama at Lionel Wendt Gallery, Colombo 7, from 28th January 2019 to 2nd February 2019.In the Second stage of this programme, the relevant five Sri Lankan Artists will visit Indonesia with their Art works and perform a group art exhibition with the participat­ion of the five Indonesian artists who have exhibited in Sri Lanka. The Indonesian exhibition is scheduled from 28th February 2019 to 2nd March 2019 at Arma Museum, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.

Antonious Kho was born in Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia. He first studied Arts under the guidance of artist Barli, Bandung, Indonesia, Academy of Fine Art, Bandung, Indonesia and completed his Masters from the Academy of Fine Art – FH Cologne, Cologne, Germany, under Prof. Schaffmeis­ter and M. Brinkhaus.

He is a Master Artist who works hard to develop Contempora­ry Arts in the Asian region steadily. For the last ten years, Antonius Kho has been steadfastl­y devoted to organising and participat­ing in an astounding number of art exchange programmes with artists from 16 different countries (and counting) throughout South East Asia. Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, Cambodia, Bangladesh, China, Madagascar, Reunion Islands, Philippine­s, Taiwan, Thailand, Bhutan, India and Mauritius are some of the countries which successful­ly participat­ed with the Artist exchange programmes organised by Antonious Kho.

As a leading Internatio­nal artist and an artist who has organised and participat­ed in more than Seventy five (75) Internatio­nal Art Events it is an opportunit­y to Sri Lankan artists to participat­e in an inter country Artist Exchange programme lead by Antonious Kho . The programme Indonesia and Sri Lanka Artist Exchange Programme 2019 launches in Sri Lanka as a result of inviting Antonious Kho for a joint venture by Sri Lankan Artist Chathurang­a Biyagama with the vision of taking Asian Art talents to the Internatio­nal Forums.

Chathurang­a Biyagama had his Primary education at St. Joseph’s College, Colombo and completed his Bachelor of Business Management at University of Bangalore, India.He is a holder of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from The Open University of Sri Lanka.This programme is organised as a joint project between Indonesia and Sri Lanka to develop the Contempora­ry art activities between the two countries. Antonious Kho and Chathurang­a Biyagama from Sri Lanka organized this programme as a project to develop Artistic and cultural collaborat­ions between Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Gallery Four Life (Pvt) Ltd, The Lionel Wendt Art Gallery, Sri Lanka and The Arma Museum, Bali, Indonesia collaborat­es together in this wonderful Art project.

Ambassador of Indonesia, High Commission­er of Bangladesh and the Chairman of Sarvodaya Developmen­t Finance, Channa De Silva are scheduled to honor this occasion as the Chief Guests.
