Nicholas Ruwan Dias conferred PhD by prestigious university
Nicholas Ruwan Dias was awarded a PhD by the prestigious University of Malaya, one of Asia’s highest ranked universities, for his thesis on ‘Enterprise Security Architecture Framework for the Banking Industry’ at the university’s Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology.
Dr. Dias is currently a Senior Enterprise Architect at Strateq (strateqgroup.com), one of Malaysia’s foremost software development companies with offices in the United States, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.
He is married to Selvi Dias and is the son of Meril and Beatrice Dias of Ja Ela. A past student of De Mazenod College, Kandana, and Seventh Day Adventist School, Kandana, he lives in Selangor, Malaysia.
The University of Malaya, Malaysia’s finest university, is ranked 87th in the world by the 2019 QS World University Rankings, the most authoritative ranking of global universities. Dr. Dias’ thesis was supervised by Dr. Chiew Thiam Kian, Associate Professor & Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology.
Dr. Dias, 41, also holds a Master’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from Staffordshire University; a Postgraduate Diploma in Software Engineering, also from Staffordshire University; and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Greenwich. He has other qualifications from Johns Hopkins University; the University of Minnesota; and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Dr. Dias holds many other prestigious industry and academic posts. He is a member of the Industry Advisory Panel in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering & Technology at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation; technical advisor to Manipal International University, the University Science Malaysia and the National University Malaysia.
He holds professional certifications as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (SAP); AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (DOP); Scrum Master Accredited Certification; Certified Information Security Professional (ISO 27001); AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (SOA); AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA); and as an AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA). He a member of the international IT governance body Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA).
