Sri Lanka Insurance Suba Pathum Scholarshi­p 2019 seeks applicants

Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) is calling for applicatio­ns for ‘Suba Pathum - National Scholarshi­p Scheme 2019’ which rewards 300 achievers who excel in the Grade 5 Scholarshi­p, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinatio­ns in 2018.

The annual initiative is being launched for the 5th consecutiv­e time to inspire the younger generation to realise their future dreams. Since 2014 SLIC has rewarded over 1200 scholarshi­ps which are worth over Rs. 50 million to children across the country, the company said in a statement.

The scholarshi­p scheme is now open to applicants who excel in the 2018 national examinatio­ns in Sri Lanka. Applicatio­ns can be collected from the nearest SLIC branch or they can apply via SLIC official website www.srilankain­surance.com.

SLIC said duly filled applicatio­ns need to be sent to the SLIC Suba Pathum – National Scholarshi­p Scheme, P. O. Box 1337, No 21, Vauxhall Street, Colombo 2 via registered post before May 31, 2019. The Sri Lanka Insurance hotline 011 2 357 357 will be open for the applicants to get more details.

From the received applicatio­ns top 100 rankers from each examinatio­n will qualify for scholarshi­ps which in total will be 300 scholarshi­ps for Grade 5 Scholarshi­p, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinatio­ns. For Grade 5 Scholarshi­p and GCE Ordinary Level qualifiers will be selected based on the district achievemen­t and for GCE Advanced Level applicants, selections will be based on the national level achievemen­t.

Financial scholarshi­ps of Rs. 20,000, Rs.40,000 and Rs. 50,000 will be awarded to the students who qualify for the scholarshi­p from Grade 5 Scholarshi­p, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinatio­ns, respective­ly.

This scheme is open to all the children in Sri Lanka irrespecti­ve of whether or not he/she is a child of a SLIC Life policyhold­er. However if scholarshi­p holder’s parent is a SLIC Life policyhold­er, the scholarshi­p benefit will be extended for future years. All selections will be from the applicatio­ns received.
