Lanka Spice has no connection with the Easter Sunday incidents

-

The Easter Sunday attacks have been a great atrocity and they have done a colossal damage to the nation, says Nalin Pathikirikorale, Chairman of Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd, strongly condemning the attacks.

In a statement, he said there was false news circulating on social media that Mc Currie, a brand owned by Lanka Spice (Pvt) Ltd, was directly or indirectly involved in the Easter Sunday attacks.

“I am categorically stating that these statements are false. This is a fabricated story intended to harm our company by some unknown party with a sinister agenda. Mc Currie is and always has been owned by me, which you can verify from our website (http:// www.mccurrie.net/about-us). The father of two suicide bombers is alleged to be one Mohammad Yusuf Ibrahim who owns Ishana Spices. Both Yusuf Ibrahim and Ishana Spices have no relation whatsoever to Mc Currie,” he said.

“At this juncture, levelling false allegations at a legitimate Sri Lankan business can only damage our reputation and hurt our business. If you have shared the initial fake news, please share this message to the same parties so that you are not helping the terrorists by spreading fake news and panic and harming the reputation of a proud Sri Lankan business,” Mr Pathikirikorale said.

Mc Currie has been a part of Sri Lanka's business and export community for over 35 years, employing over 200 staff in both of its factories at Pannipitiya and Nalanda.
