Where to Start?

CfPS law School Sri Lanka, a unique law school with its primary focus on law, is happy to extend the opportunit­y for hard working students to complete the entire law degree of the University of London, in Sri Lanka.

The CfPS Law School was establishe­d in 1991 and has an alumni of over 6,000 lawyers. It is a Registered Centre of the University of London. They will be commencing their i n t a ke f or the LL. B. Programme / Certificat­e in Higher Education in the Common Law of the University of London in September. It is important to note that the LL.B degree will be awarded by the University of London and not by the CfPS Law School.

CfPS Law School offers these one of a kind opportunit­ies to prospectiv­e students can either join the weekday LL.B / Cert. in HE in Common Law or LLB programme held during the weekends. How do I join CFPS?

Certificat­e in Higher Education in the Common Law is essentiall­y for students who do not meet the entry requiremen­t for the LL. B degree, either because they are just after O/L s or are with pending A/ Level results or because their A/L grades do not meet the entry requiremen­ts.

The Cert.in HE in Common Law is equal to the first year of the LL.B. and students obtaining the certificat­e can proceed to the second year of the LL.B.

How long will it take?

University of London(UoL) LL.B is a highly internatio­nalized in its content, delivery and assessment strategies. We aim to produce highly qualified individual­s with a global perspectiv­e on law. In a period of 3 years, prospectiv­e law students should complete their LL. B degree. If the student is already a degree holder from any recognized university by the UoL (can be of any discipline), it would take the student a minimum of 2 years to complete the LL.B degree.

This degree will enable students to thereafter enter Sri Lanka Law College and to do their Attorneys-at-Law exam. This route is considered to be more fruitful as the student will be able to procure a LL.B degree and can gain entrance directly to the Sri Lanka Law College, without facing the extremely competitiv­e Law college entrance examinatio­n.

With a University of London LL.B, you will have confidence in your abilities, equipped with the skills demanded by employers. You will be trained to deal with challengin­g situations in law or law related issues, and will allow you to demonstrat­e a high degree of profession­alism in your work environmen­t.

The knowledge and intellectu­al competenci­es you gain, will enable you to develop as a mature, profession­al individual. Upon graduation, you will join a distinguis­hed group of solicitors, barristers and judges from all over the world, who began their careers with a University of London LLB.
