There is no cure for

Dementia.

Indirectly it is the fourth biggest killer after heart disease, strokes and cancer. By 2050 there will be an estimate of 500,000 people in Sri Lanka with Dementia.

The month of September is globally recognized as ‘World Alzheimer’s Month’. ‘A GAME TO REMEMBER’ - a charity basketball match organized by the students of Australian College of Business and Technology (ACBT) in collaborat­ion with the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation is dedicated to raising greater awareness in the community.

What is Alzheimer’s disease?

Dementia is the progressiv­e loss of the powers of the brain. Dementia is a collective term to describe over a 100 physical brain disorders. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia.

These diseases damage and kill brain cells causing problems with loss of memory, communicat­ion skills and thinking capacity.

Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation ( LAF)

LAF is an approved charity and the first nonstatuto­ry organizati­on advocating and addressing the needs of those diagnosed with cognitive impairment and dementia.

The Game

ACBT‘s very own talent in collaborat­ion with the Blues Basketball Club comes together to achieve a common goal on 29th September 2019 at the Blues Basketball Complex starting at 4pm onwards.
