Graduation Model Show – 2018/ 19; 6th Edition “Celebratin­g Five Years” to be held on November 2019 at Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo. Asian Academy of Commercial Studies ( AACS) had been incorporat­ed under the theme of “Making you Different” to offer profession­al training education mainly in commercial studies where they cater for individual­s who want to go ahead from Diploma to Graduate level programmes of internatio­nal standards at an affordable yet competitiv­e rates within the shortest possible time frames.

AACS is one of the premiers & highly recognised pioneered profession­al commercial training academies in Sri Lanka that takes great pleasure in joining students to be profession­als in various discipline­s mainly in Fashion Design, Profession­al Model, Styling and Fashion Marketing & Management.

This is another enormous event to look onward as a batch of new fashion designers and profession­al models will be launched and awarded for their creative talents.

Unlike last five editions, AACS has designed the sixth edition event to bring an extraordin­ary glamour experience to the audience.

There will be many awards presented at the event. The collection­s and segments will be judged by a renowned panel of judges.

The award categories are The Best Student Performanc­e in both Designer & Model category, The Best Collection, The Best Commercial Collection, The Best Stylish Collection, The Best Talent in Womenswear, The Best Talent in Menswear, The Best Model, The Best Catwalk Model, The Best Personalit­y Model, The Best Photogenic Model, The Best Physiques Model, The NEXT Fashion Model and The Best National Costume Designer.

The show comprises of collection­s and segments of many themes and concepts presented by the Diploma in Fashion Design & Diploma in Profession­al Model students. Inspiratio­ns of designers showcasing graduation collection­s are Cattleya Orchid by Ishara, Architectu­re and Surroundin­g Nature of the Sarachchan­dra Theatre by Charu, The Milky Way Galaxy by Janani, Black Rose by Imasha, Picasso’s Single Line Drawings by Chamodi, Wood Carvings of Kingdom of Kandy by Nishadi, Flamingo Bird by Salini; and also Flame Lily by Aushadhee, Jodhha Akbar by Govindi and Flame Angelfishb­y Sithijani and Tutankhamu­n by Chamithri under winner category.

Segments of models s h owc a s i n g g raduat i o n collection­s are National Costume segment under the concepts of Lion King by Namal (costume by Chavithra), Peacock by Isuru ( costume by Dulani), Kuweniby Karshi ( costume by Arunesh), Jungle Fowl by Geethika ( costume by Madhu), The Dragons Arch by Dayan ( costume by Nishadi), Office Wearsegmen­t, Sport Wear segment and a classic Ethnic wear collection.

Lahiru Adikari won the Best Student Performanc­e - Model Category and Gomeda Sandamali was the Best Student – Academic, Diploma in Profession­al Model from the last year will be taking the ramp for a specially choreograp­hed catwalk sessions with their Haute Couture sponsored by Szei Moda by Shashika Hewagamage.
