ICBT 3x3 Basketball, a success
The ICBT 3x3 Basketball Tournament, organised by the students of ICBT, Batch 77 in Business Management, was won by Colombo Reds, who beat Air Brothers in the Open final. The basketball tournament was organised to unveil the remarkable talents of the students whilst raise funds for charity. This occasion was set to produce an arena for all the basketball enthusiasts to participate regardless of gender base, and expose with esteemed universities, schools and open teams to step ahead sportively and rally around this worthy cause.
The event was officially sponsored by Decathlon, Red Bull and Sadaharitha Plantation. The tournament consisted of 64 skilled teams that belonged to three different categories. The School Teams category had 20 teams, while 25 University teams and 19 Open teams competed in the other two categories.
In School Boys category, Trinity ‘A’ team secured their place as champions whereas the Trinity Blue Team emerged runners-up. In School Girls category Holy Family Convent ‘A’ emerged champions while the Holy Family Convent ‘B’ team were the runners-up. In the University Men’s category, Kothalawala Defence University Blues dominated the rest to become champions while NSBM ‘A’ emerged runners-up. In the University Women’s category the champions team was ICBT, who beat Kothalawala Defence University in the final. The Open Men’s category champions were Colombo Reds, who beat Air Brothers in the final.
