In its endeavour to reinforce the message that RMIT makes its students ` ready for work and life of the future’, the University is organising a series of symposium ` Future of Work Talks’ in India and Sri Lanka in the first week of November 2019.

The future is exciting yet unknowable. What is known, is that students will face significan­t disruption from new technologi­es such as Artificial Intelligen­ce (AI) and Informatio­n technology ( IT) in the future. Attending the Future of Work Talks is critical to future career success and being able to deeply understand the limits and intersecti­ons of all these new possibilit­ies.

Do join RMIT and its key industry partner Cap Gemini who will share their views on how these advancemen­ts will shape and disrupt the future of learning and work. Chaminda is an accomplish­ed leader with 20 years of expertise in transformi­ng organisati­ons across the globe into innovative, market- leading digital organisati­ons. As Chief Marketing Officer, Chaminda leads Global Marketing, Digital &

Experience and Student Recruitmen­t for RMIT University. His diverse experience includes having worked with iconic organisati­ons such as ANZ, Energy Australia, Aviva and Ford Motor Company across the US, UK, Asia and Australia. His approach is underpinne­d by developing high performing teams and fostering a collaborat­ive organisati­onal culture focused on customer centricity. Chaminda will share his own personal journey providing insights on how the world of work continues to transform.

Professor John Thangaraja­h, Associate Dean (Head), Computer Science and Software Engineerin­g, RMIT University. Professor Thangaraja­h is a selfconfes­sed technophil­e who’s looking forward to a world where art i f i c i a l i n t e l l i gence can improve our daily lives. With his r e s e a r ch into artificial intelligen­ce, he sees potential to make a significan­t difference in the defence and emergency mana g e m e n t sectors.His expertise in this area also forms the basis for his teaching in both the Master of Informatio­n Technology and the Master of Computer Science.

Mr. Darshan Shankavara­m, Executive Vice President and Leader of Global DCXl Delivery Leader, Capgemini, India.Darshan Shankavara­m is an Executive Vice President and Leader of Global DCXl Delivery Leader at Capgemini, India. As a part of his rol e, Darshan is globally responsibl­e for overseeing and building up Capgemini’s Digital Customer Experience delivery, IP and portfolio of Digital Customer experience for the Capgemini group. Darshan has a technology background and has 3 patents in the area of Mobile Commerce. He has done his Masters in Telecom and Software from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and B. Tech from BMS College of Engineerin­g, Bangalore
