Sampath Bank supports businesses to go online with Evolve

-

As more businesses make the shift from traditional physical outlets to online based operations, an obstacle faced by many is the lack of understanding on how to build an ecommerce platform.

Sampath Bank, which sees it as a driving force in Sri Lankan financial services, said it seeks to change this with the introduction of Evolve, a solution which allows users with minimum knowledge to build a website for a reasonable monthly cost. Evolve functions as a personalised ecommerce portal and enables a business to launch its e-commerce enabled website from scratch within a few days, the bank said in a media release.

Sharing thoughts on this new development, Dushyantha Dassanayaka, Chief Manager - Electronic Delivery Channels, Sampath Bank said, “We are quite confident that the services of Evolve will be especially useful to

SMEs and entrepreneurs as they take their business online. As a financial institution, we understand that ecommerce will play a pivotal role in the way transactions are carried out in the future. The modern- day consumer is moving away from the traditions of brick and mortar retail and as this happens, Sampath Bank will be present to support all businesses to cope with such a change.”

This new initiative which seeks to increase market share and profits of businesses is divided into two important components. Evolve will consist of three main modules such as an e- commerce website, merchant portal and admin module. This will be the primary platform for merchants to sell their products or services online allowing their customers to transact from home through real time payments.

The second component is known as the Payment Switch Module which offers the capability to integrate multiple payment options such as Sampath Internet Payment Gateway, Sampath Vishwa, PayApp and Ultra-Rewards Points Gateway with merchant websites in a single and seamless integration. Together, this cloud- based application includes specially designed e-commerce solution for hotels and retailers, enabling customers to make inquiries, reservations and payments online, in real time, the bank said.

“In order for interested parties to use Evolve to further the prospects of their business, all they need to do is call Sampath Bank and make a request, fill out the necessary documentation and they will be well on their way to transacting through a personalised ecommerce portal. As their business expands, this service from Sampath Bank will bring in more variety for those merchants,” it said.
