-

SLIIT has consistently ensured the production of well-moulded individuals, contributing to the most outstanding alumni since its establishment in 1999. Every student is in their own right, a success story, which is testimony to the dedication of the institution’s staff and ethos.

Aside from working relentlessly to support their students above and beyond their call of duty, the university’s staff is committed to fostering an environment of healthy balance for a wholesome education. Once they graduate, each student is furthermore backed by these experiences, which enhances their core competencies to carve out a niche in today’s competitive world. One such success story is that of Chamira Prasad

Jayasinghe, an entrepreneur, innovator and avid programmer.

A visionary who aims to become the Unicorn of the ICT domain, Chamira drives the leadership of an innovationbased company – Arimac Lanka ( Pvt). Ltd, a company valued at USD 7 million making progressive strides since its inception in 2010.

The CEO of Arimac Lanka ( Pvt). Ltd holds a Bachelor of Science ( Hons) degree in Information Technology, with a First Class Honours from SLIIT, which saw him execute multiple research projects, and achieve various national and international awards.

‘It is my vision to become Sri Lanka’s premier end-to-end digital solutions provider in Mobile and Enterprise Solutions, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Immersive Technologies, and Game Design and Development, making Sri Lanka a digital hub whilst stopping ‘brain drain’ in the country as we are losing the cream of our talent.

SLIIT was where I laid my foundation for my success. If the support given by SLIIT was not there, I wouldn’t have been able achieve my targets successfully. There are many people who have been a strength to me during my journey: My own immediate family, Bathiya and Santhush, Saliya Weerasekara, and all the employees of Arimac family.’

Field of Study

Chamira was a diligent student, actively participating in extra-curricular activities that he took on enthusiastically. He had a notion to stand out from the crowd, and he was driven to succeed. The degree he chose to follow was the ultimate foundation to help him embark on and strengthen his journey.

Standing Out

In a world that is becoming increasingly swamped by new products and services, Chamira knew he would need to cater to something truly revolutionary. In his words, ‘Learn as much as you can about your specialist area.

Become an expert in that. Obviously, there are plenty of resources out there between your library and the Internet, but also try to find a mentor who directly answers your questions. Any data is always good information. Furthermore, if you want to be an entrepreneur, make something people want. If you can do that, you’re probably onto something.’

Unwavering Support

The foundation that SLIIT created for Chamira, is an invaluable component, as dedicated members of staff particularly the lecturers, provided a solid sounding board to help hone his talent. He credits the institution for deeply investing in their students’ futures, instead of merely operating as a business.

Every course offered at SLIIT is incredibly competitive not just on a local but also global scale, with degrees affiliated with worldrenowned universities thus giving students opportunities to gain internationally recognised qualifications right here in Sri Lanka.

As it is also cost-effective, SLIIT fits into the mould effortlessly, allowing a wider demographic access to high-quality education.
