Lanka participat­es at Internatio­nal Day event in Jordan

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jordan participat­ed in the Internatio­nal Day at the New English School in Kaldha, Jordan on 25 February 2020 to promote Sri Lanka as a unique tourist destinatio­n and to showcase what Sri Lanka has to offer.

The New English School has students from 40 nationalit­ies. This was the first time the Embassy participat­ed in the Internatio­nal Day at the New English School.

The Embassy exhibited handicraft­s, porcelain items, traditiona­l masks, batik paintings and handloom material made in Sri Lanka. Ceylon tea from the seven different regions were served to inform Jordanians on the different varieties of tea produced in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan key tags provided by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Ceylon tea pouches provided by the Sri Lanka Tea Board were gifted to visitors, while Sri Lankan delicacies were served to the attendees.

Sri Lankan tourism brochures in Arabic were also displayed to generate interest in the country.
