Weeknd returns to No 1 spot

T he Weeknd has returned to the No: 1 spot on the UK singles chart with his single ‘Blinding Lights’, a week after losing ground to the new James Bond theme song ‘No Time To Die’ by Billie Eilish. ‘Blinding Lights’ was energised by the news that the Weeknd’s new album on which the track is featured on is being released on 20th March. The song moved up a single notch to reclaim the UK’s No: 1 position. In doing so ‘Blinding Lights’ now has a total of three non consecutive weeks at the No: 1 position. The synthpop/ synthwave track is co- written by the Weeknd with Ahamad Balshe, Jason Quenneville, Max Martin, and Oscar Holter. The song was used earlier on German TV to advertise the new Mercedes Benz ECQ electric SUV.
