a fully-owned entity of the University of Technology Sydney

Hi, my name is Alison Hiscox and I am the Principal of UTS Insearch Sri Lanka. The current global situation means that there has never been a better time than NOW to study the first year of your UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY SYDNEY (UTS) degree right here in the heart of Colombo. Enrol with us at UTS Insearch Sri Lanka for our new semester, commencing 29 June and, after 8 months, transfer to Sydney for semester 1 2021 with your first year complete!

Let me tell you a little bit about how we have been going so far this semester

We were able to get all of our students studying online for the start of the semester with no interruption to their studies. We did this by working very closely with our Sydney Subject Coordinators, our Sri Lankan lecturers and our students utilising a cloud platform, very similar to Zoom, that sits within our Learning Management System. We have all learned lots of new skills that we can also use to enhance and supplement our face-to-face learning when we are able to go back to the campus.

Keeping the communication going – learning the new ‘normal’

During this time of being away from each other and social distancing, it is more important than ever to keep the communication going, engage with each other from both a work and social perspective and utilise the range of of media that allows us to do this.

At UTS Insearch Sri Lanka, we wanted to try remain just as engaged as if we were running faceto-face classes in our beautiful new campus. For example, as Principal, under normal circumstances, I like to to wander down to classrooms, speak to staff and students, check how everyone is going or just observe from a distance that all is well.

Under the new ‘normal’, I can still do this - just in a different way. I am able to simply click on a link and ‘join’ any class - I can quietly observe, listen to how the class is going, check who is attending and, if I need to say something, I can join the conversation.

What courses can you enrol in with us?

We offer a fully recognised and awarded Australian Foundation Studies program and fully recognised and Australian awarded Diplomas in Business, IT and Engineering programs, all of which can be completed in 8 months.
