WYCHERLEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Gampaha extends online teaching for the Montessori School
With the current global pandemic, it is becoming important to keep children engaged and creatively occupied. In order to keep the teaching and learning process effective, innovative techniques are required to be used to teach children of all age groups.
While older children are learning from On- Line classes throughout the day from 7.30am – 1.30pm, the little ones of the Montessori School ( Playgroup, Nursery and Lower Kindergarten) require aHandson Learning method. The projects for students are sent to parents which can be playedat their convenience to keep the kids active during this time at home.
The Academic Staff of Wycherley International School Gampaha are striving hard, to ensure that all children are given the required support, guidance and encouragement to continue their educational activities uninterrupted, with the love and care of their parents and being safe within their home environment.
Our teachers are working tirelessly in preparing worksheets, lessons and activities, focusing on the Third Term Content. Apart from the educational activities, teachers are in the process of making quality content such as regular class work, story time, cooking demonstrations and displayinggardening projects to provide children with essential life skills and entertainment. To keep children engaged and positive during this time, teachers are preparing interactive videos for their students.
“In today’s environment, Children have access to technology from a very young age. Digital media, like e-books, tablets, smart phones are a part of their daily lives”. “We sincerely believe that this is the most practical and prudent method of reaching out to our little children, which will ensure that their minds and bodies are constantly kept active and agile" said Mr. Malith Kumarasinghe the Coordinating Principal of Wycherley International School Gampaha.
