Scholarshi­p offers for higher education in traditiona­l and indigenous medicine

In a bid to promote and encourage the following of traditiona­l and indigenous healing methods, the Indian Government is offering scholarshi­ps to Sri Lankans to follow undergradu­ate, post graduate and PhD courses in Ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha and homeopathy.

The Indian High Commission of Colombo announced that, under the Ayush Scholarshi­p Scheme, meritoriou­s Sri Lankans will be selected to follow courses in the above fields in India. The selection will be done in consultati­on with the Higher Education Ministry. The deadline for the submission of applicatio­ns for the academic year 2020-2021 is June 01, 2020. Applicatio­ns will be accepted by the Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Ministry.

“These scholarshi­ps cover full tuition fees and includes a monthly sustenance allowance, for the entire duration of the course. The scholarshi­p also includes an accommodat­ion allowance and an annual grant. Besides this, all Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholars in India are provided full healthcare facilities,” the Indian High Commission said.
