Driver involved in car crash that killed film director's daughter remanded

The driver of the vehicle which collided with a car in Pamankada killing one person and injuring two others last Sunday (see graphic) has been remanded until June 24. The driver was identified as Mohamed Safin, 20 from Grandpass.

Vinavi Mapitigama, 41, daughter of film director Chandraratna Mapitigama was killed and her husband who was driving the vehicle was injured. A passenger in the other vehicle too was injured. Pictures show the two vehicles involved in the accident.
