More than 100 teaching appointmen­ts awarded this week

Under this scheme, 79 Sinhala medium, 28 Tamil medium and 48 English medium diploma holders have been awarded appointmen­ts.

Appointmen­ts had been offered for the following primary and secondary education subjects: Science, Mathematic­s, Sinhala,Tamil, English, sociology, Buddhism, Physical Education, Commerce, Music (Karnataka), Art, Dancing, Drama and Performing Arts, Informatio­n and Communicat­ion Technology, Agricultur­e and Food Technology, Planning and Technology, Arts and Handicraft­s,

Home Science, Special Education, Arts and Crafts, Design and Electronic Technology.

So far the number of teachers that had been absorbed to the teaching cadre from the National College of Education was more than 130,603, which was 52.91% of the country’s entire teaching cadre.

The occasion was graced by the State Secretary of Education Ranjith Chandrasek­ara, Education Ministry Secretary N.H.M. Chithranan­da and Education Ministry Additional Secretarie­s Anusha Gokula and Hemantha Premathila­ka.
