The Cave of ISOLATION

-

A branch that is separated from its tree will not bear fruits, likewise a tree that is parted from its roots will have no life. Similarly, a human being is a part and parcel of the community called society, thus human life will be meaningless if it is disconnected from the society. Realities in life are common to all beings, therefore we all have to face it, irrespective of how severe our situation is. However, at present many people are struggling to find happiness, they are suffering, as a result of opting to indulge themselves in a mindset which is directing them to back off to a cave called Isolation. Isolating one’s self, remaining alone or separating from others is a dangerous state of mind. It compels us to deviate from facing the truth.

Being bullied during childhood, back in school, doesn’t necessarily mean that you should avoid being amidst people. Just because you were left out in the darkness by your previous boyfriend, doesn’t mean that you should never fall in love again. Similarly, if you were ignored by some nasty people at one social gathering, it doesn’t mean that you should avoid associating anyone or being at any other social gathering.

The most important aspect is to be wise and prudent in understanding that defeat, rejection, hurt and separation are equally experienced by all human beings.

Victory is achieved only by those who go through the battle. If you want to win the race, you have no choice but to run on the race track. Escaping the race track will never bring victory to you. Another reason why people try to conceal themselves from the realistic society is the fear they have within them; they assume that they might not fit in to a specific environment. There are so many people who are reluctant to mingle in environments where English is the main language of communication, merely because they do not speak English. There are also a number of people who fear attending functions or gatherings at five star hotels just because they are not aware of handling the cutlery. Then there are those who isolate themselves from the society as a result of being overweight.

Isolation does not act as a human development tool; it is rather a mankind deteriorating weapon. Think for a moment, would a knife made of ordinary steel, be of any use if it is kept aside in isolation, from its routine work such as cutting and chopping? No, it would be of no use. It will turn blunt in no time, and it will soon lose its ability to cut and it would also be corroded due to being isolated with air and water.

Isolation is bound to weaken your mental strength, as it discontinues your productivity with connection to the world. Losing connectivity with the world will only leave you outdated and make life miserable. Power could be derived only through connecting the other source to the main. The moment you disconnect yourself from your source you are more likely to be senseless, because you neither transfer energy to make anyone happy nor do you captivate energy to make yourself happy. If love is considered as the source of energy, then a person in isolation will not be able to engross himself as he is detached from the source.

However, some misinterpret privacy and independence to isolation and loneliness. Privacy is required only when you are part and parcel of a unit.

Dr. Philip Nehri, is a respected role model across the world for his outstanding come back in life to become a world class trainer and a well-respected CEO from being a rejected drug addict and a discarded mental patient. He went on to achieve the award as the best Sri Lankan student from the CIM – UK in its final stage and was also honoured with a Doctorate by the United Nations, University for Global Peace in USA for his astonishing retaliation in life.

He also became the youngest Sri Lankan to be awarded a full scholarship from the government of United Sates in the field of Therapeutic Community Psychological Counseling. He is presently the CEO for “Chandanalepa”, the market leading Ayurvedic Cosmetics brand in Sri Lanka which has courageously stepped into eighteen offshore lands.

If you isolate yourself, you do not need privacy as you will always be living in private. Likewise independence is standing on your own even though you are connected to many. If you are by yourself, then the need to be independent will not arise. Curry, Chili or Turmeric powder alone will not be able to create a mouthwatering dish. If they are blended together as individual spices, they will be able to create a delicious dish as one spice enhances the essence of the other. Equally, you will only be able to appreciate your beauty through someone else’s mirror. You must be able to accept your real self, failing which you will always find it arduous to overcome the fear of being rejected by others.

There is and will always be only one and only you. You are unique and unmatchable. Therefore start loving yourself for who you are. Those who have achieved victory in life have always chosen to ignore the thorns and appreciate the beauty of the Rose, if you keep on thinking of the severity of the thorns you will surely miss the utmost beauty of the Rose. So, it is your choice to walk out of the cave of isolation and discover the beauty in you by being a part of this overwhelming recipe known as the society.
