ECU Vi c e - C h a n c e l l o r Professor Steve Chapman CBE welcomed the results and said they are a continuation of years of consistently high rankings.

“ECU is proud to once again be recognised as a 5-star university for our teaching quality,” Professor Chapman said.

“The 2021 Good Universities Guide ratings demonstrate that ECU continues to offer one of the best learning experiences in Australia.

“Our approach to teaching and learning is to put students at the centre of everything we do, and these results strengthen our focus on providing a world-class student experience.

“These results are a testament to the commitment and dedication of our hard working and talented staff.”

In field specific results, ECU’s teacher education and computing and information systems both received 5- star ratings across all education experience metrics, including teaching quality, overall experience, skills development, student support, learning resources and learner engagement.

The Good Universities Guide ratings are based on results from key national surveys run on behalf of the Australian Government under the banner of Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT).

The QILT suite of surveys is the largest of its kind in Australian higher education and includes the Student Experience Survey ( SES) and Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS).

Earlier this year, ECU was also ranked in the world’s top 100 universities under 50 years old in the 2020 Times Higher Education ( THE) Young Universities Rankings.
