World Vision Contracts Hayleys Solar for its Project to Uplift the Lives of the Rural Population

Hayleys Solar is Sri Lanka’s No.1 Solar EPC company (Engineerin­g, Procuremen­t, and Constructi­on) which has commission­ed a significan­t capacity of approximat­ely 50MWp out of the island’s total installati­on capacity of 330MWp to date Hayleys Solar is a Brand of Fentons Group. This year, Fentons Limited is celebratin­g 100 years of its existence in Sri Lanka, having served some of the most renowned establishm­ents in government, financial, hospitalit­y and corporate sectors in the country.

Hayleys Solar has been contracted to provide power and energy for projects of World Vision Lanka, a Christian, relief, developmen­t, and advocacy organisati­on dedicated to working with children, families, and communitie­s to overcome poverty and injustice.

Subsequent to the supply, installati­on, and successful commission­ing of the World Vision Head Office at Colombo 9 for a total Solar PV Solution capacity of 52.47kWp, Hayleys Solar has been commission­ed to provide power and energy for World Vision’s projects such as water treatment plants (in Polonnaruw­a) plus several water board and hospitals in Jaffna. Presently, a total of 199kWp capacity has been provided for such projects.

Establishe­d in 1878 by Chas. P. Hayley as a trading house in Galle specialisi­ng in import and export, the Hayleys Group has since grown to serve as a centrepiec­e of the Sri Lankan economy while maintainin­g a global presence of manufactur­ing and marketing offices across five regions with business interests spanning a total of 16 sectors. Today it stands out as one of Sri Lanka's most prominent success stories, having been the first listed Sri Lankan corporate to surpass US$ 1 billion in revenue and accounting for 3.4% of the nation's total export earnings.
