Shield, a leading Hand Sanitizer brand of Hemas Consumer Brands has once again stepped forward to support the nation’s course in curbing the Covid- 19 outbreak. Following the footsteps of Hemas Consumer Brands’ efforts to promote healthful living and considering the current situation of the country, Shield set up 28 hand- sanitizing units at vaccine centres within western province and Galle to help ensure the safety of people who arrived in their numbers to be vaccinated.

The Shield team also spearheaded an activity

to create awareness among 50,000 citizens on the necessary precautions to be taken post-vaccination. A leaflet containing precautionary measures, compiled in collaboration with the office of the Provincial

Director of Health Services was distributed to each person who arrived to be vaccinated.

Commenting on this effort of Shield, Naveed Anjoon, Marke t i n g Manager at Hemas Consumer Brands said, “We are indeed happy to lend a helping hand to the government’s vaccination drive and its e f forts to curb the Covid- 19 outbreak. We noticed that most people are unaware of the precautionary measures to be taken post- vaccination. Shield, being a brand focusing on the health and safety of families realized it as a social responsibility to educate the public and help in curbing the spread of Covid- 19. Having received good feedback from the public, we are planning to expand this initiative to other areas as well.”
