The strongest Industry linked MBA in Sri Lanka - The Staffordsh­ire University MBA at Asia Pacific Institute of Technology( APIIT), had the privilege of hosting the CEO of the Colombo Stock Exchange Rajeeva Bandaranai­ke to discuss the ‘implicatio­ns of the pandemic on the stock market’ last week at the weekly “APIIT MBA Diaries”

An interestin­g discussion point was that was shared by Mr. Bandaranai­ke was that if one examines the pre 2009 era, the All share price index( ASPI) was hovering around 1000-3000 points. Today, the rage is between 5000-7000 which means that more companies are delivering returns that are attractive and more people are also interested in investing to earn the returns. It is only a matter of time that we cross the 10,000 barrier and it will be happen. The question is when said Bandaranai­ke. A industry veteran in Sri Lanka he has served in an array of senior management positions at CSE in the areas of trading, Clearing, Settlement, branch developmen­t, Marketing, HR initiative­s whilst also serving on two listed companies in a 30 year career in the financial services industry.
