Signals still “weak” in rural areas, despite promises of improved internet facilities
Despite pledges by various politicians and officials that the signal strength would be improved in rural areas, so that school children can engage in online educational activities without a hassle, the situation has not changed much.
In Giribawa, school children still have to climb trees and hills with their smartphones, to ensure that the signal strength is sufficient for their online educational activities.
Despite many teachers being involved in trade union action these past few months, some children have continued with online education. But these children have not been able to benefit from their actions because of the poor signals.
