Situated in North-East Wales (UK), Wrexham Glynd r University has its origins in the Wrexham School of Science and Art (WSSA), which was established in 1887. The University has been functioning under its present name - Wrexham Glynd r University - since 2008. Although a relatively young University, Wrexham Glynd r University has carved a niche for itself as an innovative higher education institution which offers applied courses leading to employability in a broad range of fields.

It is a vibrant and friendly place where each student’s learning and future is given personal attention.

Wrexham Glyndwr University currently offers industry-led courses and are proud of the collaborations with leading local and regional employers, such as Airbus, Kellogg’s, JCB and the BBC. The knowledge and expertise from these collaborations are fed back into the University’s courses to ensure students are provided with only the most relevant skills for their future careers.

Closest Cities to Wrexham: Liverpool, S t o k e - o n - T r e n t , M a n c h e s t e r, Wolverhampton, and Birmingham. Wrexham Glyndwr University’s main campus in Wrexham is located near the border between England and Wales; hence, students have easy access to a number of major English cities as well as the beautiful tourist attractions of Northern Wales.

The university is committed to supporting students to maximise their academic potential. The University offers workshops and support sessions in areas such as academic writing, effective note-making and preparing for assignments; small class sizes mean that students are easily able to ask questions, should they need to.

Glyndwr’s Academic Development Team ( ADT) has scooped Advance HE’s 2021 Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE).

The University is just one of 14 institu

tions to be recognised with the CATE award this year, and the win is made even more impressive by the fact that Glyndwr’s ADT was established just a little less than five years ago.

This latest success comes within weeks of Glyndwr achieving top in Wales for teaching, assessment and feedback, and learning opportunities and a UK top six placing for “student satisfaction with teaching” in the National Student Survey, and being ranked 15th in the Complete University Guide 2022 for student satisfaction with “teaching quality”.
