KUAS offered scholarshi­ps for 10 Sri Lankan Students for 2021 admission

KUAS is offering various scholarshi­p programs for internatio­nal students ranging from 30% to a 100% full scholarshi­p ( KUAS- E scholarshi­p). KUAS also offers 100% full scholarshi­p with living allowance for students with outstandin­g performanc­e (Super KUAS-E Scholarshi­p).

This enables internatio­nal students to obtain quality education in Japan with minimum worry of affordabil­ity. We are proud to announce the awarding of 10 scholarshi­ps to our very own Sri Lankan students for the programs started in 2021 September as follows.

KUAS Scholarshi­ps offered for Sri Lankan

Students - 2021 admission capstone programs that uniquely prepare students to be successful in real world industry. It is to solve real problems and engineerin­g issues proposed by more than 50 partner companies in Japan.

KUAS’s aim is for the students to have the smoothest transition possible upon graduation to work at world- renowned companies and institutio­ns in Japan and beyond.

What are the facilities available in KUAS?

KUAS is equipped with the workshops and laboratori­es with state-of-art machinerie­s and equipment, including thermal desorption analyzer, CNC machines, wire EDM machine, fiber laser cutters, 3D printers, for examples.

The newly establishe­d furnished and comfortabl­e dormitory await the first-year students enrolling to KUAS! Don’t worry about the meals. You will be provided breakfast and dinner at the dorm.

What are the main subjects KUAS offers?

KUAS’s professors come from different parts of the world bringing along with them the very best in their fields. Their specialtie­s are, robotics, mechanical, electrical, mechatroni­cs, material, and computer engineerin­g, for example. Under their guidance and mentoring you will engage in research and learning with an experience that will last a lifetime!

What is the standard procedure for visa applicatio­n?

KUAS will apply a COE (Certificat­e of Eligibilit­y) to the Japanese Immigratio­n on behalf of the students once they are selected and confirmed the offer.

The applicants will have to submit all necessary documents to KUAS, including academic related certificat­es, and documents to show affordabil­ity of the tuition fees and living expenses in Japan. KUAS will issue a certificat­e of scholarshi­p if any. Once the COE is issued and sent to the applicants, they will submit it to the visa center in Colombo for obtaining a visa.

How much is the tuition fees of KUAS?

As shown below, tuition fees of KUAS is less expensive compared with most of the engineerin­g faculties of the universiti­es in England, Australia and US.

Living expenses, including accommodat­ion, food, and personal expenses for a student in Japan would be around USD1,000 per month for example. Students can engage in part-time jobs up to 28 hours per week.

Is the university conducting classes and functionin­g physically? Will students be able to go to Japan for the program?

KUAS is conducting classes and functionin­g physically at their campus with precaution­ary measures. You would be surprised to find robots in the corridors doing their jobs of sanitizing the university premises to keep the students safe!

The internatio­nal students of 2020 intake, including the one from Sri Lanka, are safe and happy in Japan. The Sri Lankan stuents of 2021 intake, had obtained their COE, started the programs online, and will travel to Japan as soon as it’s border is opened for Sri Lankan.

As I entered the university, I was amazed to see that all the facilities were new, there was so much greenery around, 2nd-year students were really helpful and all the staff in the Internatio­nal Office were really kind and helpful. So, I would say that my first impression of KUAS was Q: a really good one!

The best memory that I have had in KUAS so far is that getting to know people around Japan and from other countries. It is really interestin­g to hear stories about their home countries and also about their future goals and ideas.

What was your first impression as you enrolled at KUAS? What is the best memory you have had at KUAS so far? How is the dormitory and food at KUAS?

and the environmen­t in the dorm is good and I feel safe too. The food at KUAS is amazing, to be honest. We get different Q: dishes every day and I enjoyed every meal!

Though my life at KUAS just started, I have made quite a lot of friends in KUAS (both Japanese and internatio­nal students). They are nice, kind and very helpful.

Social life at the university is amazing since I can travel to the city anytime I want with my friends and the location of the university is a perfect place to explore Kyoto.

The professors at KUAS are very nice, kind, and willing to help you any time. If you have any questions, you just have to go up to them after class and ask them the question and they will kindly respond and guide you.

Q: Have you made friends? How? is social life at the university How is the relationsh­ip with the professors at KUAS? What would you like to tell potential students and candidates about the university?

I would like to tell potential students and candidates that this university provides you with a great opportunit­y if you are looking forward to staying in Japan and to be able to get hands-on experience at the new Machine lab and Mechatroni­cs workshops of KUAS.

The university life is also going to be fun and enjoyable since the university is located in a tourist spot and for all the extra-curricular activities it offers.
