Githmi and Nishelle in World Monologue Games global finals

Monologue Games is a global event that sees thousands of performers from scores of countries participat­e in an epic acting competitio­n and virtual showcase. This year over

2500 participan­ts from

51 countries entered the competitio­n.

Githmi Jayaratne,

10, won 1st place from the judges’ choice in the regional finals.

“Cue School of Drama gave me the confidence to pursue my talent and I’m thrilled to be in the world finals,” says Githmi.

“I am super excited and proud to be selected for the global finals and to represent Sri Lanka. A big thank you to my drama teacher Miss Ranga for moulding me into who I am today,” says Nishelle, 11, who won 3rd place in both the judges’ choice and audience votes in the regional finals.

“We are the first and only school from Sri Lanka that had our students selected for the World Monologue Games global finals. This has been an amazing journey and definitely a positive outcome of online learning. We are honoured and excited to be in this competitio­n and partner with the WMG. I wish Githmi and Nishelle all the very best as they go on to represent Sri Lanka,” says Cue founder Ranga Jayaratne.

Cue offers speech and drama education focused on providing practical experience in performanc­e. “With victories like these we prove that our curriculum and fun learning approach is making a positive change in how speech and drama is taught in Sri Lanka,” says Ranga.
