The History of Post

The earliest evidence of postal systems dates back to 2000 BC in Egypt and 1000 BC in China, with the earliest known postal document dating back to 255 BC in Egypt.

The relay system of transmitting messages and letters was likely developed in China. In the 6th century BC, the Persian Empire used mounted messengers who also used the relay system and had posthouses along the way.
