Brenda Lee classic back on the UK top 10

Brenda Lee’s original rendition of ‘Rocking Around The Christmas Tree’ is back on the UK top 10 singles chart for the third time. The US singer was just 14 years old when she first recorded the song back in 1958. It became top 10 UK hit for her in 1963 peaking at 6. After 54 years the song returned to the UK Top 10 singles chart peaking at No: 9 in 2017. This week ‘Rocking Around The Christmas Tree’ climbed from No: 22 to reach No: 10 on the UK singles chart for the 77-year-old Lee. Kim Wilde and comedian Mel Smith’s rendition of the song peaked at No: 3 on the UK chart in 1987.
