S-lon - Conducts Successful Regional Plumber’s Programmes

One of Sri Lanka’s most loved constructi­on and building material brands; S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd which is a subsidiary of The Capital Maharaja Group, recently conducted three re g i o n a l Plumber’s Club programmes in Pelmadulla, Ambalangod­a and Galle .

The programmes were conducted on November 9th at Silver Ray Hotel, Palmadulla, on November 11th at Sea Breeze Hotel, Ambalangod­a and on 30th November at Aradhana Hotel, Galle.

Establishe­d in October 2001 under the leadership of Mr. S.C. Weerasekar­a; Current Group Director of The Capital Maharaja Group, the S-lon Plumber’s Club was founded with the objective to develop and evolve the knowledge, technique and standards surroundin­g the modern plumbing industry and thereby uplifting the social acceptance of the plumbing profession.

Over the last two decades the club has grown to a base of over 8,000 active members who benefit from the practical and informativ­e areabased sessions conducted under the guidance of

some of S- lon’s most respected senior profession­als in the field.

These programmes explore the growing trends, opportunit­ies, challenges and qualificat­ions in the current market.

The end goal is to continuall­y develop the local plumbing industry in addition to improving the profession­al and

personal standards of plumbers.

The Plumber Club extends career guidance and support towards developing plumbers’ career prospects and attaining career recognitio­n through NTT ( National Trade Test) and National Vocational Qualificat­ions ( NVQ) with the partnershi­p of NAITA.
