Sailors dominate Cops

Navy SC regrouped to record a upright 12-0 win against Police SC in their Club Rugby League Championship match played at Police Park yesterday. Coming back strong from their defeat at the hands of Havelocks last week, the Sailors were however thwarted many a times by the Cops in the initial stages, as the first half ended scoreless. The Sailors retaliated no sooner the game resumed, during when all their points were scored, from two tries and a conversion. Lock Adeesha

Weeratunga scored Navy's first try in the 41st minute, and fullback Thilina Weerasinghe braced with their second try in the 69th minute. Flyhalf Isuru Kongahawatte converted the second try as Navy gained a morale booster prior to their next week's game against Kandy.
