HSBC will host clients to a fun-filled weekend of golf with two back-to-back tournaments held in Colombo from February 11 to 13, with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the winners to witness the 150th Open Championship, to be held at St Andrews in Scotland.

The three-day golf event will begin with the HSBC 5-Club Stableford Golf Tournament scheduled from February 11 to 13 followed by HSBC's exclusive Premier Golf Tournament held for the ninth year on February 12 at the Royal Colombo Golf Course (RCGC). Both events will conclude with an awards ceremony held on February 13 at the RCGC.

This year also marks 26-years since HSBC sponsored the first Stableford Golf Tournament since 1996. As with each year bringing forth more participation, this year's tournaments are expected to see an increased number of seasoned golfers participating in the Men's Division A, B and C divisions as well as the Ladies’ and Seniors’ categories, showcasing their golfing skills and vying for the prestigious HSBC Premier Challenge Trophy and the HSBC 5-Club Trophy.

The key highlight this year is that the two winners of the HSBC Premier Golf Tournament will each receive a hospitality package to witness the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland from July 14 to 17, which will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

HSBC is a patron of The Open Championship and a supporter of golf across key markets.

"This year, we are also very excited to be able to leverage on our global sponsorship of The Open and offer two lucky winners of our premier tournament the opportunity to witness the 150th Open Championship in July which is golf's oldest major championship, as we mark our 130th anniversary in Sri Lanka," Mark Surgenor, the CEO of HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives, said.

HSBC Premier Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the player with the highest Stableford points in any handicap group including Seniors and Ladies. The HSBC 5-Club Tournament is open to all golfers of the RCGC with an active valid club handicap, while the HSBC Premier Golf Tournament will be open to all HSBC Premier golfers in the Men's A, B and C divisions as well as the Ladies' and Seniors' categories.

Premier Junior golfers will also have an opportunity to take part in an exclusive Premier Junior golf tournament to showcase their golf skills with an 18-hole stroke play on February 11. Trophies will be awarded to participants with the Best Gross Score for ages 12 years and below and 13 to 18 years.
