Teejay offers overseas exposure to management trainees

The Teejay Group, Sri Lanka’s first multinatio­nal fabric solutions provider, has made giant strides in its efforts to becoming the region’s largest weft knit manufactur­er.

Marking a first, Teejay is opening its doors to the next generation to further their management careers – as they get the opportunit­y to indulge in the level of influence and exposure that can only be derived by associatin­g with a brand name that is ranked among Sri Lanka’s top 30 corporates and holds the prestige of being recognised by Forbes under “Asia’s best under billion category”, the company said in a media release.

With Pacific Textiles Hong Kong and Brandix Lanka as its main shareholde­rs, the trailblaze­r caters to the world’s leading fashion brands including premium goliaths viz. Nike, Calvin Klein, Limited Brands, Marks & Spencer, Intimissim­i, and Tezenis. The Management Trainee Programme spans across 18 months and those selected will learn the functions of a world class corporate while gleaning a firm grasp on all aspects that are interlinke­d with fabric manufactur­ing. The trainees will receive comprehens­ive learning relating to; merchandis­ing, planning, and procuremen­t. Selected trainees will also receive a period of overseas exposure in Teejay Lanka’s other networking partners outside Sri Lanka.

The release said an ideal candidate should hold; a degree with a 1st or 2nd class in Textile Engineerin­g/ Engineerin­g/General Management/ Applied Sciences, be a good team player, a leader with a drive for learning, a proven achiever in extracurri­cular activities, and an excellent communicat­or.
