New Principal and Head Prefects for C.W.W. Kannangara Vidyalaya
Mrs. Champika Weerathunga assumes duties as new female Principal after 23 years
Mrs. Champika Weerathunga assumed duties as the new Principal of C.W.W. Kannangara Vidyalaya, Colombo 8 on January 27. This has been a significant event since Mrs. Weerathunga is the first Principal who has been appointed through an interview conducted by the Provincial Ministry of Education of Western Province after the school was named as a national school and also the first female Principal to be appointed after a period of 23.
Soon after assuming duties, Mrs. Weerathunga appointed two new Head Prefects as the new board of prefects for 2021/2022 of C.W.W. Kannangara Vidyalaya took their oaths under the new Principal. Accordingly A.M. Theekshana Perera and R. Praboda Dilrukshi were appointed as the Head Prefects.
