Situated amidst the colonial beauty of the old Dutch Hospital in the heart of Colombo, The Joint – a rustic themed pub and grill down Chatham Street, Fort has both indoor seating as well as an open air courtyard.

The Joint is quietly building a reputation as an ideal place to enjoy drinks and food and its menu is an added attraction with some distinctiv­e fare such as their Kottu range – yes, it’s kottu with a Thai flavour. The Seafood Platter is another hot favourite – a mix of lagoon crabs, tiger prawns, cuttlefish, tuna and grilled vegetables. Their signature cocktails are a must-try not to mention their mouth watering dessert range with Tiramisui and kavum paha. Their dishes are made by their expert chefs with fresh and organic ingredient­s.

Open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and even later during weekends, there’s also entertainm­ent by famous bands and DJs in Colombo.

The rustic themed, unique design concept is from Ajith Perera, known as the ‘Master Potter” who was given a free hand in designing The Joint.

Having started operations in May 2021,The Joint is owned by JK Tradelink Pvt. Ltd. Now, expanding to the Leisure sector, they also run the Club Man-Go, eco-beach resort in Kalpitiya with nine chalets.

The Joint’s dishes are also available through Uber Eats, eat-me-global and direct deliveries. The courtyard or indoors can be hired for private functions with menus customised to suit requiremen­ts.
